2011 Preakness Play

AK on Cruise Control

This weekend’s Preakness brings us the first Kentucky Derby winner since Big Brown with a legitimate shot at winning the 2nd leg of the Triple Crown.  In the Preakness favorite Animal Kingdom, we have a colt that ran much the best in the Derby, continues to eat and is getting better by the day.

So, what’s the pick?

The Pick: 1st – Dialed In, 2nd – Animal Kingdom, 3rd – Dance City

The Play: TriB – 8, 9, 10, 11

Super – 10, 11 / 10, 11 / 8, 9, 14, 7 / 8, 9, 14, 7

I went back and forth about including Dialed In in my play period, so in the end, inexplicably, I picked him to win it.  I hope that after this weekend we are looking at a potential Triple Crown, but I’ll settle for some tasty action this weekend.

Final Note: Last year’s 3rd place Derby finisher and 6th place Preakness finisher Paddy O’Prado jumps back on the track for the first time in 2011.  He headlines a weak field in the Dixie Stakes.
